Sorting waste for recycling helps to reduce solid waste pollution, improve air and water quality. Involve your child in sorting out waste at home and explain its importance to them.
The following wastes can be sorted at home:
- Paper waste: used food/ beverage carton, cardboard, newspaper magazines
- Plastic waste: PET. PVC and other types of plastic waste
- Metal waste: soft drink cans, nails, safety pins
The sorted wastes can be disposed of in waste sorting bins in your neighbourhood, usually near shopping malls.
