Food poisoning is caused by eating contaminated food. Very often, contaminated food looks, smell and taste normal. So, it is important to prevent the contamination of food by adopting safe food handling practices such as:
. Separating raw food from cooked food, and storing raw food at the bottom of the fridge to avoid juices dripping onto, and contaminating, other food
. Checking your fridge temperature is below 5 °C and your freezer temperature is below -15 °C
. Covering all food with lids, food covers, tin foil or plastic wrap
