Time to Move: Fun with Bowling Game

Materials Needed: 10 empty plastic bottles OR cups; one soft ball/tennis ball/ paper (rag) ball
This game is best played in pairs or teams of 3 or more persons.
With the help of your parents, elder brother(s)/sister(s):
  1. Draw a straight line on the floor.
  2. Place the empty bottles/plastic cups 3 metres away from the line and arrange them.
    • Be creative in arranging the bottles. Some examples of how you can arrange the bottles/cups are provided.
  3. Use a soft ball/paper ball/tennis ball for this game.
  4. Stand on the line you drew and hold the soft ball/paper ball/tennis ball in your hand.
  5. Roll down the ball OR aim at the bottles/cups without rolling the ball to try to kick off the maximum bottles/cups.
  6. Each person playing the game is allowed to roll/throw the ball 3 consecutive times to score the maximum points.
    • Scoring
    • 1st roll/throw – 3 points per number of bottles/cups kicked off (e.g., if you kick off 2 bottles you score 2 x 3 = 6 pts)
    • 2nd roll/throw – 2 points per number of bottles/cups kicked off.
    • 3rd roll/throw – 1 point per number of bottles kicked off.
  7. Enter the score for each roll/throw in the score sheet on the next page.
  8. Re-arrange the empty bottles/cups in the same way before the next person starts the game.
Note:- To make the game challenging, increase the distance between the line drawn on the floor and bottles/cups.
