NOTE to Parents

Healthy snacks are foods eaten in between main meals that do not contain too much fat, sugar and salt. They can also be good sources of protein, vitamins and minerals.

Young children need healthy snacks in between meals for growth and to carry out their daily activities. Packing a healthy snack for your child to eat during school break time can also help your child through the later part of the morning or afternoon.

Examples of healthy snacks are: fruits, nuts, pancakes, puddings, corn on the cob, yoghurt, ‘dahi’, ‘idli’, sandwiches, mini vegetable pizzas, muffins.
