NOTE to Parents

A garden, however small, has a significant impact on our surroundings. So, if you have available space for gardening, it’s really worthwhile to grow different herbs, fruits and vegetables. Even if you do not have any extra space, you can still use containers and your roof top to grow herbs, some fruits and vegetables. There are many benefits to having a garden at home:

• Helps to save money.
• Helps you to reduce your carbon footprint.
• Reduces soil erosion.
• Produces food for your family.
• Helps to preserve and protect wildlife.
• Reduces waste.
• Promotes sustainable agriculture.

By growing your own garden, you are the one to decide what goes in your plants and into your soil, allowing you to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals polluting our environment and waterways.
Walking, bending, lifting, and pulling movements that happen while gardening fit into the moderate exercise category that can increase your body’s immune system function. As you work outside in the sunshine, you are helping your body in the production of vitamin D. Gardening can also be a fun, family task to take on to make an environmental impact together and to teach your children the importance of going green
